Young Scholars Workshop |
|
After the success of seven editions of the EurOMA Doctoral Seminar the European Operations Management Association will organize the first edition of the EurOMA Young Scholars Workshop at the EurOMA 2009 conference in Gothenburg, Sweden. The workshop is targeted for young OM academics in general, and Alumni of the EurOMA Doctoral Seminar in particular.
This new activity was conceived as a way to support the career development of young scholars in the field of Operations Management by teaching and sharing with them the major skills needed in the academic career, such as supervising Master and PhD students, reviewing papers, writing papers, networking, teaching, etc. Each year one of the above subjects will be developed on a rolling base. The first years of experiences will form the details in this matter. At the same time, the initiative is aimed at developing the community of young OM scholars keeping the network alive and providing opportunities to meet and confront on relevant topics.
The theme for the 2009 workshop is Supervising MSc and PhD students.
